People often ask whether reflexology will help with a particular condition and you may be wondering the same thing. A friend may have told you, for example, that reflexology helped her with some health problems. This is called anecdotal evidence, what people have found helps them. As a reflexologist, I am not permitted to make such claims. More research is being carried out into the efficacy of a wide range of complementary therapies, including reflexology. This is sometimes difficult as they do not always lend themselves easily to analysis by standardised control trials. Hopefully, we will gain more insight into how reflexology and other therapies ‘work’ and why so many people ‘swear’ by them.
Meanwhile, I think it is fair to say that reflexology can help most people, whatever the problem, because it helps to relax and relieve stress.
