Relaxation is one of the cornerstones of health and wellbeing. We all know this, yet we feel guilty about taking time to relax and let go of tension and worry. There’s always something we “should” be doing and taking time out for ourselves feels like an indulgence rather than a necessity.
It is generally accepted that stress is at the root of some 75% of illness, so making time for regular relaxation makes very good sense.
It seems that modern day stress is related to the speed of life today. It is about the increasing demands placed upon us but also about our own expectations and the pressures we place upon ourselves to do better, more and quicker. It does us good to retreat from this and get back in touch with who we are.
Reflexology is a fantastic way to relax. You don’t need to do a thing just let your practitioner soothe away the tension. It’s a time to relax and let the stresses of modern life melt away.
